In chapter five Beowulf told his story about Breca and him. Breca was Beowulf Friend that race him in the ocean. The Apple that Beowulf had his men pick were very good tasting, he ate the whole apple, he handed one to the king the king took a bite of the apple and said that the apple was not to sweet nor to sour. Unferth sneered when he saw Beowulf teeth that were rotting. The king touched the scars on his face that Grendal gave him. The king knew Beowulf's father Ecgtheow. The queen defends Beowulf when Unferth scoffed at what the queen said, but when the queen said "He admits to his weaknesses and in the admitting they become strengths..."
